TCR Festival
We are big fans of Texas Country Reporter and attended the TCR Festival this year. LOVED it! We got to meet a number of people who have been featured on the show including the Crazy Kolache Lady, Al and Jen of Just Cuz Pottery, and Wildwood Dean. And, I got to play a dulcimer for the first time, hand crafted by Jay Pepper. But the highlight for me was meeting Diane Rose, the Amazing Quilter, a blind quilter/motivational speaker. What an inspiration she is! I told DH I want to live next door to her so I can get up every morning and go get my daily splash of joy before my caffeine. If you are looking for a speaker for a special event, contact Diane.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s festival and new episodes of TCR. I just love the great things that people do in this life!

Hi, Gypsy. I’ve missed you and thought about you often. I thought you were off on your next big adventure. I reread your blog post about your trip and realize I must have skipped over the word “November.” The Texas Country Reporter Festival is an annual event in October in Waxahachie. I have wanted to go for years but just never did till this year. We had a great time. There’s a link for the festival information at the TCR website, http://www.texascountryreporter.com/. It hasn’t been updated yet for next year but probably will be soon. You would love it!
The blind quilter, Diane Rose, also has a website. You can catch up with her at http://theamazingquilter.com/. She is the most inspiring person I have ever met! There is a link on her website to a video of the interview she did with Bob Phillips on TCR. It is a wonderful interview, but I can’t get it to play from her website. Maybe you will have better luck. If so, it will surely inspire you.
Oh, I LOVE that sign! What a neat festival. Where and when is it? How do we get in touch with the mentioned quilter?
