A True 3-Day Weekend

Last weekend was a long one due to the holiday. We always look forward to those 3-day-weekends. Friday afternoon when getting my hair cut, my hair dresser asked what kind of plans we had for the 4th. I told her we had none. We planned to do nothing. She said all her clients, when asked, have said the same thing. Perhaps it is because of the economy. Perhaps it is because we just need to stay out of the Texas heat. There was no shortage of people at the mall on Saturday when DH and I spent a couple of hours at the book store. The mall was busier than I ever saw it at Christmas….

I have to say that the theme for our long weekend was peace. No drama, no expectations from anyone to do anything, just pure peace and relaxation. Ahhhh…. I could take some more of that.

On the way to work Monday morning DH said, “You know, I think this is the first time it really felt like a 3-day-weekend.” I agree. We actually started our new week feeling rested.
