Well, I’m back. Everything seems to be in fine working order–except for me! I’m sure you all are as busy as I am trying to get ready for Christmas. DH and I have been Christmas shopping after work every night this week. We started shopping early, planning to have everything under control. HA!!!! My tree isn’t even decorated yet, and my Christmas cookbooks are still scattered all over my kitchen table where I started looking at them last weekend. My dining table is covered with gift wrap and items to be wrapped. My bows, made while DH had pneumonia, are still not “Cherylized.” I did make it to World Market to buy a ton of chocolate, one of my traditions for Christmas stockings.
What is my point? I am determined not to stress this year. I have decided to enjoy this season, take it as it comes, and not stress out over what isn’t done. If I don’t get my tree decorated, I’m ok with that. (Did that just slip out of my fingers? Heresy!) It has a zillion lights and is beautiful as is. But, I should be able to at least get a few ornaments, including jingle bells, on the bottom of my tree for the kiddos. Store-bought cookies, anyone? Apple cider? No thanks, it’s 80 degrees outside. And, Michaels had some huge appliqued felt bags that I fell in love with. I bought a bunch–one for each family member. If necessary, I’ll just throw any unwrapped gifts in the appropriate bag and call it done–individual Santa bags for everyone! (I’ll post photo later.) I have to get in gear, though, because Sunshine #2 is spending the weekend, so everything must magically disappear tonight.
On another note, a sad note, I am so sorry for the attack in the Nebraska mall yesterday. I can’t imagine shopping, thinking of others, enjoying the music and the ambience, and having to take cover to avoid a gunman. How sad that loved ones are now focusing on funerals and hospitals. A friend left yesterday for Omaha for business meetings. I hate it that she has to go there during this tragedy.
Well, be happy, be safe. Seize the day, make some memories, and HAVE FUN!
Deep peace to you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Stacey! How fun to win a prize!
Good luck with that Christmas shopping!
Cheryl you won bling bling! Wayyy cool, congratulations, my friend! And I didn’t even run the numbers for that prize, so it was all your luck! xoxo
No stress….oh Cheryl I’m on my way down right now! We cut all our credit cards up this year, we didn’t think about Christmas, sooooo we are waiting for John’s bonus which will arrive Friday. So as you can imagine, we are going to be running like mad to get shopping finished and hopefully not elbowing too many people out of the way. You know…in case!
xoxo
PS-mail me some of that chocolate
