Happy Birthday Donuts

I received telephone calls today from two of my favorite little guys–my grandsons–to wish me happy birthday. DH and I were sitting in seminars all day (and have the flat behinds to prove it), and I missed the first call from Little G. I called him back during a break, and because of all the background noise, he thought I was having a birthday party without him! He wasn’t happy that I didn’t answer the phone when he called me. :) We had actually sort of celebrated on Saturday with a shopping trip to Stonebriar Mall with DD, Little G, Little E, and Papa. (No, I didn’t get the shoes I wanted. They were too expensive. BUT, I did find another pair on sale!) Little G was my shopping buddy at Franklin Covey. He was fascinated with the binders and said he would buy that one when he gets bigger. When we first walked in, we saw a rack of tote bags on sale. Little G proclaimed that I didn’t have a white one. (I don’t have one of any color!) He said I needed a white one and he was going to buy me one. What a sweetheart! We shopped till Papa dropped, then went out to eat, then went back to Little G’s for fun and a movie. (And some jeans hemming.)

I had a strange request–yeah, I’m getting old, so I can get away with it. No birthday cake. Nope. I wanted birthday donuts. I am a goner for HOT Krispy Kremes. And, Saturday, the hot light was on. Soooo….we had happy birthday donuts. Little G had already had his quota of sugar, so I bought him a special happy birthday donut–chocolate iced with sprinkles–for breakfast Sunday morning.

My parents wished me birthday greetings last night, and my brother called me this morning. Thank you, Big C, for singing Happy Birthday to me on the phone today. That’s the best present a Nana could want! :) Love you all. Lots. and Lots.
