Sunless and Getting Cranky

Good gravy. Has anybody seen the sun lately? I can’t even remember the last time I saw the sun rise or set. I think it is still out there somewhere…..

You know things are bad when it takes so much energy to fight the elements just to get home that you go to bed when you get there! Yesterday at rush hour (OF COURSE) another “tropical storm” rolled through. (Are we in the rain forest???) Some locations received 5 inches in a couple of hours. There is positively no place for any more water to go. Even a drop causes more flooding.

My sideyard stays underwater, and we can’t mow the backyard, but oh how green everything is! The crepe myrtles in this area are astoundingly beautiful after all this rain. I have no room to complain whatsoever. So many people have lost everything they own in the flooding including their homes, and others have lost loved ones. Most victims have been children. Dear God, give the children wisdom to stay out of the water.

Last year about this time our county was declared a disaster area for drought. Well, guess what. Yep. Last week we were declared a disaster area for water. I shudder to think what may come next year!

These photos pretty much sum up our lives for the last two or three months. It has been weeks since we have had a rainless day.
