This week has been a wild one, and I think I’m brain dead. Somehow this post got marked “private” and was not posted! I need a vacation!
1. Problem: This TT is late. Solution: Do it anyway. It seems no matter how hard I try to be organized, life just gets in the way. Ha!
2. Problem: Life gets in the way of my plans. Solution: Hang on to that runaway train and enjoy the ride! You just never know where it will take you.
3. Problem: Makeup that looks ookie, feels ookie, and doesn’t remotely match my extremely fair skin. Solution: Bare Escentuals. Where have you been all my life? How much money I could have saved if I had only tried this, the perfect makeup, years ago! No line of demarcation! Actually healthy for my skin! This is great stuff. I buy mine from QVC.
4. Problem: Skin care that works. Solution: Arbonne Pure Swiss Skin Care. The RE9 system is the best stuff! I happen to know someone who sells this product if you would like more info.
5. Problem: Uncooperative hair. Solution: Bernie! I have been going to her for 16 years, and I don’t let anyone else touch my hair. She was off for 6 months recently for surgery and a broken leg. Yep, I did not get my hair cut that whole time even though my hair grows very, very fast. She knows me so well, she was brave enough to do something that could have gone very, very wrong. Two weeks before my daughter’s wedding I desperately needed a trim. I told her to to give me a very minor trim and not to change anything. The day before, she had watched a demonstration of a new hairstyle. Unbeknownst to me, I was receiving that same “do” –the first guinea pig. I knew something was up when her co-workers kept coming over to watch, asking, “Is that the one we saw yesterday?” But, when she showed me the final product, I was flabbergasted. It was PERFECT for my hair, and I am still wearing the same style today. Now THAT is having confidence in your client’s hair–and in your own skills. That could have gone very, very badly. I love it that she knows my hair better than I do!
6. Problem: Gray hair. Solution: Highlights! For a while I was too chicken to color my hair. I didn’t want people saying, “Oh, you colored your hair!” Why was I so worried? Who really even cares what I do with my hair? But I finally got gray enough to do it and admit it. Got it done again last weekend. My hairdresser does such a good job, most people don’t know what is different about my hair, only that it looks great.
7. Problem: I hate flat hair. Solution: Nick Chavez of Beverly Hills. Love his hair products–especially the Plump and Thick line! They give my hair REAL body. If I overdo it, I get real, genuine Nashville hair. (I order from QVC.com when products are available at a special price.)
NOTE: I really am not obsessed with my hair, but it is a big problem area for me as I am deficient in hair-fixing skills. I need a lot of help.
8. Problem: Needed–one kindred spirit.
Solution: My daughter.
She is my best friend. She listens, encourages me, rants with me, cries with me, and tells me when it’s time to get over it and move on. I am so blessed to have such a great relationship with her! (Photo taken at the pumpkin patch.)
9. Problem: Lack of knowledge. Solution: Books! Online classes! Education! There is so much I want to do with my websites, and I don’t want to wait to learn everything. But, the flip side is that I LOVE to learn new things. I am currently taking a CSS class online.
10. Problem: Caviar tastes on a shoestring budget. Solution: Allow yourself a FEW extravagances along the way, but keep it realistic. (I’m trying, I’m trying!)
11. Problem: Not enough hours in the day. Solution: Use every minute to its fullest. Once a minute is gone, it is lost. What you DID with that minute can last, or it can fade away into wasted oblivion. Lord, please help me make all my minutes count!
12. Problem: Waking up tired with discouragement, disappointment, hurts…..this is no way to shape my brand new day. Solution: Radio program, The Journey with Tom Dooley. Two great hours of Christian encouragement through literature and music (podcasts available from iTunes). How is it he ALWAYS knows exactly what I need for that day? And, there is nothing that gets my blood pumping like hearing Tom’s exuberant proclamation at 7:00 a.m. — It’s Friiiiiiiiiiiiidaaaaaaaaay!
13. Problem: Any and All. Solution: The Holy Bible. God’s Word. THE Ultimate Road Map. There is no excuse for not spending time in God’s Word with all the tools available to us these days. One of my favorites is the One Year Bible-on-Radio, also available as a podcast on iTunes.

Good! We can’t have too many warm fuzzies, can we?
Love you lots.
Thanks mom! You’re my best friend, too. Pretty much all your TT work for me except for the flat hair. I’d donate half of mine if I could…
You gave me a warm fuzzy tonight!
