Blessed Day

Some days you just know you are blessed. This morning, after our power came back on, I was getting cleaned up to go out to breakfast with dear hubby. I keep a radio in my bathroom to listen to the traffic report in the a.m. for the daily grind of the commute. However, today, the Christian station I usually listen to was broadcasting a children’s program about Easter. I was completely enjoying the music and the explanations of Easter to the point that I joined in, praying and praising God for sending us His only Son. I worshipped my Creator.

We went to eat, then went to run several errands. I had bought a pair of crop pants at Foley’s that were defective. I had actually purchased 2 pairs and only tried on one. Of course, the pair not tried on would not button when the time came to wear them. The buttonhole was barely big enough for a pinhead to go through, much less a button.

On the way to the mall, I told my husband I sure needed a new pair of jeans, but that I wasn’t even going to look. Buying jeans is NOT fun. Especially when for the first time in my life—ever—the pounds are finding me. :(

I scurried around Foley’s while Hubby waited in B&N. I walked past the same rack probably 5 or 6 times while browsing and going to the dressing rooms. Finally, I looked up, and saw the numbers $1.99. Say what? I did a double take. $1.99. I glanced at the rack, and it was mostly jeans! I was heading to the dressing room, anyway, so I grabbed a couple of sizes, knowing neither one would fit me. The first pair fit me like a glove! I’m not kidding. I had tears in my eyes as I said, “Thank you, God.” How like God to supply our needs! He cares about the smallest details in our lives.

I went back to the rack and found 3 more pairs in that same size (different styles/stonewash). When I went to the register, I asked for those items to be rang up first. Sure enough, they were $1.99 each! The clerk explained that yesterday some boxes of clearance clothing were found in the stockroom, previously overlooked. I exchanged the crop pants, bought an additional pair, and bought 4 pairs of jeans for less than $25, including tax! What a blessing! Thank you, Lord!
