Ah, yes. The Dallas Independent School System. I don’t know where to start. I cannot believe the senseless hogwash that comes from the Dallas administration—when they have time for anything other than in-house fighting.
It is something all the time. The dust was just settling on the district’s attempt to force all school principals to learn how to speak Spanish so they can communicate with parents. (Sorry, that’s a whole ‘nuther rant.)
This week takes the cake. The board met with lawyers to determine if they could figure out a way to break federal law and hire illegal immigrants to teach in the public school system.
Say what????
Yep, the district is spending tax dollars to send recruiters to Mexico in order to staff Dallas schools with “bilingual” teachers. The district wonders why Dallas should have to spend that money when educated illegal immigrants live right here–right under their noses. Their reasoning is that immigrants shouldn’t be penalized if their parents brought them to the U.S. illegally when they were just babies. It wasn’t their fault. They grew up here and were college-educated here, are well-qualified, but they can’t get jobs.
Say WHAT?????
Ay-yi-yi. This is wrong on soooooooo many levels! My first thought was, “Where is their character–these immigrants?” If they are qualified to teach and to be an example to our children, why don’t they step up to the legal plate and do what needs to be done? Where is honesty and integrity? My word, send them back to Mexico then go recruit them legally, for crying out loud! Skirting federal law???? I can’t believe they would even consider such a thing. I think you’re a little big for your britches, Dallas.
It’s a wonder any good kids come out of this district. The tenets lived before the students are these:
-
1. Get your own political group represented on the school board.
2. Make certain your representative will not get along with any other group’s representative.
3. If you can’t have your own way, make a way. Forget good reason.
4. If you still don’t get your own way, holler “Race!” It doesn’t matter which one, any race will do.
5. Look for shortcuts every chance you get.
6. If you can’t find a shortcut, figure out how to break the law.
7. Throw as much money at it as you can–as long as it is someone else’s money.
8. Always put yourself first.
9. NEVER EVER consider what is best for the children.
That about does it. I am SO thankful I am not a parent of a Dallas student. It is no wonder there are so many homeschooling families in the Dallas area. People who dutifully pay their taxes to support their public school system, then have to pay again for their own schooling needs.
I’m done. But, I can’t say that I feel any better. Shame on you, Dallas. Shame, shame.
